There are many variables one must consider before committing resources to build an ethanol plant.  Variables like location options, rail access, (Class 1), road access (Class A highway with turning lanes), availability of grain, energy access (natural gas, electric or alternative source), water availability, access to animal feeding units for distiller’s grains (dry and wet) and other local synergies, must all be scored, to determine a location’s true value we use a site evaluation matrix.
